The image above is a frieze depicting the procession of the Roman senate going to the forum in Central Rome. This frieze is located on the Ara Pacis an alter dedicated to peace. It was built during the time of reign of Augustus as high priest around (375-385) BC, to honor 'the triumphal return Hispania and Gaul'. Ara Pacis is altar with four faces, depicting different the north face is shown above and the south face (shown below) depicts a time where people are greeting Augustus as High Priest in Rome. The other two faces show one where a woman is guarding and sitting on weapons conquered from the enemy. The other shows of Romulus and Remus are being discovered by Faustulus. The alter itself is dedicated to peace and time of war.
